Gallatin County
Tobacco Use Prevention Program

Welcome to Smokefree Montana!
Fresh air outside; Clean air inside.
In 2005, the Montana legislature passed the Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA), one of the most important public health policies in state history. Laws like the CIAA reduce heart attack rates by at least 20 percent. They also reduce lung disease, including lung cancer, as well as other debilitating and fatal illnesses, and they protect unborn children and young children from health problems.
The Gallatin County Tobacco Use Prevention Program in southwest Montana is a community based program that is addressing the public health crisis caused by the use of all forms of commercial tobacco products.
Our plans for 2013-2014 will use best practices and build on past successes to:

WORKING TOGETHER, WE CAN END THE TOBACCO EPIDEMIC.
If we choose to, we can end the tobacco epidemic in this country. But it's going to take all of us--parents, teachers, health care providers, communities, states, schools, and policymakers-- supporting policies, programs, and media campaigns that prevent tobacco use by youth and young adults.
