Dear Business Owner,

In 2005, the Montana legislature passed the Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA) which requires all enclosed public places and workplaces to be smokefree.

The act protects each individual's right to breathe clean air and it protects public health.

To be in compliance with the CIAA businesses are required to:

  • Post no smoking signs in conspicuous places at all entrances to enclosed public places and places of work.
  • Prohibit smoking in all enclosed public places or place of work.

The Gallatin County Tobacco Use Prevention Program is working hard to ensure that all businesses are held to the same standards; providing healthy, smokefree environments for patrons and employees.

If you have any questions about the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act, please contact the Gallatin County Tobacco Use Prevention Program.

Respectfully yours,

Rick Gale
